環境方針｜Environmental Policy

一般社団法人鎌倉サステナビリティ研究所（以下、当法人）は、持続可能で公正な社会の実現を目指し、調査・知見の提供、学びの機会の創出、そしてサステナブル人財のエコシステムづくり（人財育成・人財マッチング） を通じて、社会の環境課題の解決に貢献することを使命としています。

当法人は、健全な地球環境が人々の暮らしと事業活動の基盤であるとの認識のもと、自らの事業活動に伴う環境負荷の低減に努めるとともに、当法人の事業を通じて、社会全体の環境課題の解決と脱炭素・循環型社会への移行に貢献してまいります。この考えに基づき、本環境方針を定めます。

取組事項

  1. 環境関連法令等の遵守

当法人は、事業活動に適用される環境関連の法令、規制および当法人が同意するその他の要求事項を遵守します。

  1. 事業活動における環境負荷の低減

当法人は、オンラインを中心とした業務運営を基本とし、事業活動に伴う環境負荷の低減に合理的な範囲で努めます。

  • オンラインを活用した業務運営により、通勤・出張・移動に伴う排出を抑制する

  • ペーパーレス化とクラウド・デジタルツールの活用により、紙・消耗品等の使用を削減する

  • 省エネルギーおよび再生可能エネルギー由来の電力の活用を、業務環境において可能な範囲で推進する

  • 廃棄物の削減・分別・リサイクルおよび資源の効率的利用に努める

  • 備品・サービスの調達における環境配慮（グリーン購入の考え方の尊重）

  1. 事業を通じた環境課題解決への貢献

当法人は、以下の事業活動を通じて、社会全体の環境負荷低減に貢献します。

  • 調査・知見の提供を通じて、企業・団体の環境配慮やサステナビリティ経営に資する情報発信・啓発活動を行う

  • 学び・育成（セミナー・ウェビナー等）を通じて、環境・サステナビリティに関する人材と知見の裾野を広げる

  • サステナブル人財エコシステムを通じて、サステナビリティ・環境分野で活躍する人材と組織をつなぎ、社会の課題解決力を高める

  1. サプライチェーンにおける環境配慮

当法人は、取引先・委託先に対し、当法人のサプライヤー行動規範に基づき、環境関連法令の遵守および環境負荷の低減への取組を期待します。

  1. マネジメントと継続的改善

当法人は、本方針の実効性を確保するため、年1回のモニタリング委員会で取組状況を確認・見直し、継続的な改善を図ります。

  1. 役職員への周知および意識の啓発

当法人は、本方針を全ての役職員や業務委託先に周知するとともに、環境に関する意識の向上を図ります。

  1. 本方針の公表

当法人は、本方針を文書化し、社内外に対して公表します。

Kamakura Sustainability Institute (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") is committed to contributing to the solution of societal environmental issues toward the realization of a sustainable and just society. We fulfill this mission through research and the provision of insights, the creation of learning opportunities, and talent matching in the sustainability field.

Recognizing that a healthy global environment is the foundation of human life and business activities, the Institute strives to reduce the environmental impact associated with its own operations. Furthermore, through our business initiatives, we contribute to solving broader societal environmental challenges and advancing the transition to a decarbonized, circular economy. Based on these principles, we establish this Environmental Policy.

Action Items

1. Compliance with Environmental Laws and Regulations

The Institute shall comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and other requirements to which it subscribes in relation to its business activities.

2. Reduction of Environmental Impact in Business Activities

  • The Institute operates primarily through an online-centric model and reasonable efforts shall be made to minimize environmental impact arising from its operations:

  • Reducing emissions associated with commuting, business trips, and travel through online-focused operations.

  • Reducing the consumption of paper and office supplies through paperless initiatives and the utilization of cloud/digital tools.

  • Promoting energy conservation and the adoption of renewable energy-derived electricity in our working environment to the extent feasible.

  • Striving for waste reduction, segregation, recycling, and the efficient use of resources.

  • Considering environmental factors in the procurement of office supplies and services (respecting the principles of green purchasing).

3. Contribution to Environmental Solutions Through Business Activities

The Institute shall contribute to lowering environmental impact across society through the following endeavors:

  • Disseminating information and raising awareness to support corporate and organizational environmental care and sustainability management through research and insight generation.

  • Expanding the talent base and knowledge foundation in the environmental and sustainability domains through education and talent development (seminars, webinars, etc.).

  • Enhancing society's problem-solving capacity through talent matching, connecting skilled professionals with organizations active in sustainability and environmental sectors.

4. Environmental Considerations in the Supply Chain

The Institute expects its business partners and contractors to comply with environmental laws and reduce their environmental impact, in alignment with our Supplier Code of Conduct.

5. Management and Continuous Improvement

To ensure the effectiveness of this Policy, the Institute shall review progress annually through a Monitoring Committee and pursue continuous improvements.

6. Communication to Personnel and Raising Awareness

The Institute shall communicate this Policy to all directors, employees, and contractors, while striving to promote environmental awareness among them.

7. Public Availability of this Policy

The Institute shall document this Policy and make it publicly available both internally and externally.
