CBI・KSI.共催：金融機関向けトランジションファイナンス・ワークショップ開催報告
2025年7月、クライメート・ボンド・イニシアチブ(Climate Bonds Initiative)*および鎌倉サステナビリティ研究所(KSI.)**は、トランジションファイナンスおよびトランジション計画評価手法の実務的な理解を目的とした、金融機関向けクローズド・ワークショップ(全3回シリーズ)を開催いたしました。
本ワークショップでは、多排出セクターの脱炭素を促進するために重要なトランジションファイナンスの最新動向や、企業のトランジション計画の信頼性を確保するための評価視点・実務例について、 国内外の知見を共有し、投資家のエンゲージメント活動への活用を目指しました。
プログラム内容
第1回：「トランジションファイナンスとトランジション計画の評価手法の最新動向」
CBIによるグローバルな評価基準と実務での適用例を解説
第2回：「日本における多排出セクターのトランジション計画の現状分析と課題の整理」
KSI.が実施した第1回・第2回 調査結果から重要セクターの取組状況の整理
第3回：「トランジションファイナンスにおける本質的課題と金融機関の役割」
企業とのエンゲージメントなど実務上の課題について参加者によるディスカッション
参加者の方々からは、現場の具体的な状況や課題意識について率直にご発言いただき、活発な議論が行われました。特に第3回では、参加者からの要望に基づき、ディスカッション中心の構成とすることで、トランジションファイナンスの本質的な課題について、参加者同士が率直に意見交換を行う貴重な機会となりました。
CBIおよびKSIは今後も、トランジションファイナンスの促進に向けた実践的な知見の共有や、金融機関及びそのステークホルダーの皆様の意見交換の場の提供に尽力してまいります。

CBI–KSI Co-hosted: Report on Transition Finance Workshops for Financial Institutions
In July 2025, the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI)* and Kamakura Sustainability Institute (KSI) **co-hosted a closed, three workshop series for financial institutions, aimed at deepening practical understanding of transition finance and methods for assessing transition plans.
The workshops shared domestic and international insights on the latest developments in transition finance, an essential tool for decarbonising high-emitting sectors, and on evaluation perspectives and practical examples for ensuring the credibility of corporate transition plans. The objective was to help participants apply this knowledge to their investor engagement activities.
Programme Overview
Session 1: Latest Trends in Transition Finance and Guidance for Assessing Transition Plans
CBI explained global evaluation standards and examples of their practical application.
Session 2: Analysis and Challenges in Transition Plans for High-emitting Sectors in Japan
KSI presented findings from 2 surveys conducted, summarising the efforts of key sectors.
Session 3: Fundamental Challenges in Transition Finance and the Role of Financial Institutions
Participants discussed practical issues, such as engagement with companies.
Participants actively and candidly shared their perspectives on real-world situations and challenges, resulting in lively discussions. In particular, Session 3—structured mainly around open discussion in response to participant requests—provided a valuable opportunity for a frank exchange of views on the fundamental issues surrounding transition finance.
Climate Bonds and Kamakura Sustainability Institute will continue to share practical knowledge to promote transition finance and provide forums for exchange of opinions among financial institutions and their stakeholders.
