Publication of the “Evaluating Transition Plans in Japan’s High Emission Sectors: Oil and Gas Sector” report

The Kamakura Sustainability Institute (KSI) has been conducting a series of studies since last year to assess how far Japanese companies have progressed in formulating transition plans toward net zero by 2050 — including the setting of short- and medium-term targets and the development of concrete action plans.

Building on the perspective of the previous study, which focused on understanding the overall status of transition plan development among Japan’s high-emitting sectors, this year’s study places greater emphasis on the implementation of transition plans, actual emissions reduction performance, and the consistency of business portfolios and capital allocation with those plans. It also draws comparisons with global peers to identify current trends and challenges facing Japanese companies.

We invite you to explore the findings and insights from this latest analysis.
